Company history
Today aCROnordic is well on its way changing into a full service development CRO with broad and in-depth drug and medical device development expertise and strong presence in the Nordic area. The business focus on clinical testing of pharmaceuticals and medical devices in flexible and innovative solutions remains a key business area of aCROnordic.
Embracing the full drug and medical device development process implies changing the company from being a clinical CRO into a development CRO. This requires a wider range of competences in the company and expertise in product development, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance, complementing our competences in clinical development. Changing aCROnordic into a development CRO began with the enclosure of BGAdvice in December 2007. BGAdvice by Birgitte Guldhammer contributes with extensive experience in cross-organisational project management, and in driving the processes on inventions from product ideas into drug development. Birgitte Guldhammer joined the Management group in aCROnordic as Executive Vice President and Partner.
aCROnordic was founded in May 2003. Until June 2004 the name of the company was SpadilleMedimentum. The history of the company goes back almost four decades as Spadille, the first CRO in Scandinavia, was established in 1971. In 2003 Spadille and Spadille Clinical Trials merged with technology leading CRO, MediMentum, and became SpadilleMedimentum. The merger was driven by both Spadille's desire to embrace new technologies and Medimentum's wish to offer a broader range of services related to clinical trials. The founder of Medimentum, Søren Strøh, is CEO of aCROnordic.
